There are other kinds of black pearls available but these two are considered to have the best quality.

Expect to pay more for rings that feature a bigger black pearl because the bigger the pearl, the higher its value.  A perfectly symmetrical pearl with high luster and smooth surface will surely be more expensive as well.  Be your pearl black or white; make sure that you learn about the grading system so that you can make the best decision according to your budget and taste.
