Credits cards have become a phenomenal and ubiquitous utility among individuals from all walks of life, gone are the days when people used to walk around with hard cash. A visit to a supermarket will see you notice a majority of people waving their black cards to the cashiers a true testament that credit cards are taking over more so prepaid credit cards. The major advantage of credit cards over cash is the fact that they are more secure and also it is easier to keep and track records of expenditure when using credit cards.
Prepaid credit cards without fees have introduced a new dimension to societal obsession with what has come to be known as “plastic money”. The major difference between prepaid credit cards and other credits cards is the fact that, with prepaid credit cards payment is made upfront as opposed to the later where payments are made later. Prepaid credit cards have their own advantages and disadvantages the major ones are discussed in the subsequent paragraphs.
A major advantage for the prepaid credit card is the fact that the cash is paid upfront making it highly unlikely for one to be tossed into debt a fact that is both beneficial to the economy as it is to the individuals. A cross section of society has embraced the idea of prepaid credit card with a majority of them being those who have no affiliations with financial institutions such as banks or those who have had a bad credit history therefore not being eligible for the normal credit cards.
Prepaid credit cards offer the same features as normal credit cards but a major con is the fact that whilst credit cards give full compensation in case of online fraud prepaid credit cards do not. However they have such security features as limiting the amount of expenditure in case someone gets illegal access to your card.
All said and done the pre paid card market is improving every day as innovations and new ideas are implemented. It promises to be a vibrant and convenient financial instrument both now and in the future!
